Susobhane mathe yogi padmasana samanvitah,
Asanopari samvisya pavanabhyasam acaret.

Let the Yogi go to a beautiful and pleasant place of retirement or a cell, assume the posture padmasana, and sitting on a seat (made of kusa grass) begin to practice the regulation of breath.

Biarkan yogi memilih suatu tempat menyendiri yang menyenangkan dan indah atau sebuah kamar kecil, melakukan sikap padmasana dan duduk pada tempat duduk yang terbuat dati rumput kusa, memulai untuk melaksankan pengaturan nafas.

Samakayah pranjalis ca pranamya ca sudhih,
Dakse vame ca vighnesam ksatra palambikam punah.

The wise beginner should keep his body firm and inflexible, his hands joined as if in supplication, and
salute the Gurus on the left side. He should also pay salutations to Ganesha on the right side, and again to the guardians of the worlds and goddess Ambika who are on the left side.

Pemula yang bijaksana harus menjaga badannya agar selalu tegap, jangan dibengkokkan, tangannya tercakup seolah-oleh seperti memohon dan menghormat guru pada sebelah kiri. Ia juga harus menghormat pada ganesa disebelah kanan dan juga terhadap penjaga dunia dan dewi ambika yang berada disebelah kiri.
